Currently (at the University of Akron) I'm almost done with revisions on the first three chapters and then I'll propose. Chapterscombined1.22.07
Here are the basics of a Dissertation:
Ch. 1 - Introduction
Self-explanatory
Ch. 2 - Lit Review
What's already been said
Ch. 3 - Methods
What I actually plan to do (the study). Once this has been written and cleared, I do the proposal - a formal request to do the study (PPT, with all 5 committee members present). They OK it. And I do the study. It's at this point that I can't estimate the time.
Ch. 4 - Results
After I do the study I write about it and say what I did, which won't match up totally with what I said I'd do.
Ch. 5 - Conclusion
Summary and discussion of implications of the results. Write about what future studies should do.
